Saveur's 2011 Best Food Blog Awards

Well this was a pleasant surprise.

I was awaken early this morning by a text message from Saturday Night Foodies, indicating that I'd been nominated for Saveur.com's 2011 Best Food Blog Awards. I was incredulous at this point, and actually thought that I might have dreamt up the whole incident. But sure enough, once I was able to get online, I saw an email from Saveur's Editor Helen Rosner indicating that indeed, I was a finalist in the Best Restaurant/Dining Coverage category. Out of the over 45,000 nominations received this year, I'm not quite sure why my relatively modest, decidedly old-school blog was chosen. I am deeply honored, however, to be included in such a strong list of nominees (complete list here).

Saveur editors selected the finalists, but it's up to users to determine the winner. The voting went live this morning at 9:00AM EDT, and ends on Thursday, May 12, so please cast your votes here--thanks!
